Job Description

Our client, an organization in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their team. This full-cycle role manages the recruiting process for a wide range of positions across the refinery, partnering with hiring managers to attract, assess, and hire qualified talent while ensuring a positive candidate experience and compliance with employment policies. The position offers the opportunity to support workforce staffing needs at all levels within a fast-paced, unionized environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for assigned positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, offer management, and onboarding coordination.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing requirements and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Create and manage job postings through the Applicant Tracking System and external recruiting platforms.
  • Source qualified candidates through job boards, networking, referrals, social media platforms, and direct outreach.
  • Conduct candidate screenings and initial interviews to assess qualifications, experience, and organizational fit.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communication, and interview feedback processes.
  • Facilitate offer preparation, offer presentation, and pre-employment requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process to ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Develop candidate pipelines for current and future staffing needs. Maintain talent pools for frequently recruited and hard-to-fill positions.
  • Build relationships with technical schools, colleges, universities, trade organizations, and industry associations. Participate in career fairs, recruiting events, community outreach programs, and networking opportunities. Support internship, co-op, and early career recruiting initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers regarding recruiting processes, candidate availability, interview best practices, and hiring timelines.
  • Coordinate selection activities and facilitate movement of candidates through the hiring process.
  • Support workforce staffing plans by maintaining awareness of hiring needs and business priorities.
  • Ensure timely communication with hiring managers regarding candidate status and recruiting progress.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and documentation within the ATS and HR systems.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations throughout the hiring process.
  • Support EEO, employment eligibility, background screening, and other required pre-employment processes.
  • Assist with recruiting audits, reporting requirements, and documentation reviews.
  • Support consistent and equitable hiring practices across all functions.
  • Track recruiting activity, open requisitions, candidate pipelines, and hiring progress. Generate recruiting reports and metrics as requested.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency, candidate experience, and process effectiveness.
  • Support employer branding initiatives and recruiting communications.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities with HR Operations, hiring managers, and new employees.
  • Ensure completion of pre-employment and onboarding documentation.
  • Support new hire orientation activities and transition processes.
  • Assist with initiatives designed to improve early employee engagement and retention.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing, industrial, refining, engineering, skilled trades, maintenance, or energy-related positions required.
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), preferably ADP Recruiting.
  • Experience supporting both exempt and non-exempt hiring preferred.
  • Experience recruiting in unionized environments preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of TWIC card qualification or ability to qualify is required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
