Job Description
A fast-growing company in the manufacturing industry is seeking an HSE Advisor to join the team. The HSE Advisor supports the manufacturing facility by developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs that ensure regulatory and company compliance. The HSE Advisor conducts risk assessments, safety audits, site inspections, and incident investigations while promoting a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, federal, and industry HSE regulations, as well as corporate standards.
- Support implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Provide HSE guidance on operational projects, including risk management, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments within a manufacturing environment.
- Support incident response, reporting, investigation, and corrective actions to promote a learning culture.
- Review and update HSE standards, policies, procedures, and forms to align with best practices and client requirements.
- Develop and maintain audit schedules and conduct regular HSE audits and site inspections.
- Gather and analyze HSE performance data, prepare reports, and present findings to leadership.
- Encourage feedback from employees and stakeholders to evaluate HSE effectiveness and drive improvement initiatives.
- Maintain controlled HSE documentation and promote proper use of records and systems (e.g., SharePoint).
- Identify constraints or improvement opportunities within HSE and operational functions, and implement practical changes that support business growth.
- Champion a culture of safety, and environmental awareness throughout the organization.
- Perform other HSE duties and support as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years' relevant HSE experience, preferably within a manufacturing or similarly high-risk operational environment
- OSHA 100-hour training (required)
- 2 or 4-year degree in Occupational Health and Safety
- Strong understanding of rotating equipment and welding equipment
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 requirements
- Demonstrable practical HSE experience within a manufacturing or similarly high-risk operational environment
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001, with proven ability to interpret its requirements and implement an effective occupational health and safety management system at site level
- Previous experience working with an Integrated Management System (IMS), ideally incorporating ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001, would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of US OSHA requirements
- Strong audit experience, including planning and conducting internal and external HSE management system audits, site inspections, reporting findings, and verifying corrective action close-out
- Extensive experience leading and reviewing risk assessments, including identifying hazards, evaluating controls, and ensuring actions are practical, proportionate, and effectively implemented
- Skilled in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
- Proficiency in HSE reporting, performance analysis, and management system documentation
- Knowledge of SharePoint or similar platforms for document control and system access
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, and senior leaders and to constructively challenge unsafe behaviors or practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
