Job Description
A fast-growing manufacturing company is seeking an HSE Coordinator to join the team. This is an opportunity for a hands-on HSE professional to build and sustain a strong safety culture within a growing industrial operation. The HSE Coordinator is responsible for leading and ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements across the company's manufacturing operations, with a focus on incident prevention, environmental impact management, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
HSE Management & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Annual HSE Program in alignment with OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, ISO standards, and corporate policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HSE regulations applicable to manufacturing operations in Texas.
- Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementation of preventive and corrective controls.
- Maintain HSE procedures, policies, work instructions, risk matrices, and related documentation.
- Support and participate in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 internal and external audits.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and observations to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Manage OSHA recordkeeping requirements, including OSHA 300 Logs and incident reporting.
- Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans, including fire, spill, evacuation, and medical emergency procedures.
- Coordinate contractor safety compliance programs.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
- Manage waste generation, storage, transportation, recycling, and disposal processes.
- Monitor environmental programs related to air emissions, stormwater, wastewater, hazardous waste, and chemical management.
- Coordinate environmental reporting and regulatory submissions as required.
- Support sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
- Deliver HSE orientation and training programs for employees and contractors.
- Promote safety awareness campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives and facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and behavioral safety activities.
- Support leadership in developing a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Sciences, or related technical disciplines
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environmental roles within Manufacturing, Metal processing, Foundry operations, Industrial production environments
- Experience managing OSHA compliance programs
- Experience supporting environmental compliance programs and permits
- Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments
- Certifications preferred: OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, ISO 14001 Internal Auditor, ISO 45001 Internal Auditor, First Aid / CPR Certification
- Strong knowledge of: OSHA 29 CFR 1910, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HazCom), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Confined Space Entry, Occupational Noise Control, OSHA Recordkeeping (300 Logs), Emergency Action Plans, Hot Work Requirements, Contractor Safety Programs, DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations
- Knowledge of: Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Air Permits, TPDES Permits, SWPPP Programs, Industrial Stormwater Compliance, Hazardous Waste Regulations (RCRA), EPCRA Reporting, SPCC Plans, Wastewater Discharge Requirements, Chemical Storage Regulations, Environmental Emergency Planning
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
- Must be bilingual: English/Spanish
- English: Advanced / Fluent
- Spanish: Advanced / Fluent
- Experience in copper, metals, wire & cable, extrusion, foundry, or heavy manufacturing industries
- Experience working in startup manufacturing operations
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies
- Familiarity with Ishikawa, 5 Why's, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies
- Knowledge of CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) programs is a plus
- Leadership, strong communication skills, problem solving and analytical thinking, proactive mindset, organization and planning, continuous improvement orientation
