Job Description

A well-established precision manufacturing company is seeking a CNC Grinder - Carbide Manufacturing to join the team. This is an on-site role supporting a stable, growing production environment with a strong focus on work/life balance and long-term career development. The CNC Grinder is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC grinding equipment to manufacture high-precision carbide products while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards.

Salary + Additional Benefits:

  • $22-32/hr DOE
  • Shift Hours: M-F, 2:00 PM-10:00 PM or 3:00 PM-11:00 PM
  • Weekend work available: $75 show-up pay + 1.5x hourly rate for 1-2 hours onsite

Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC grinding machines used in carbide manufacturing.
  • Grind carbide tooling, inserts, wear parts, and precision components to engineering specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
  • Adjust machine offsets, tooling, and grinding parameters to maintain quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain production records and quality documentation.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company manufacturing standards.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
  • 3+ years of CNC grinding experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience working with carbide products, carbide tooling, or tungsten carbide materials
  • Experience with OD, ID, surface, centerless, or tool & cutter grinding equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T concepts
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to hold tight tolerances
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with Waida, Rollomatic, Keyence, ANCA, Walter, Studer, or similar CNC grinders preferred
  • CNC programming or editing experience preferred
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement background preferred
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a machining environment preferred
