Job Description
A fast-growing company in the heavy lifting transportation industry is seeking a Heavy Haul Dispatcher to coordinate in-house drivers and third-party carriers for moves nationwide, including routing/scheduling, shipment tracking, documentation, and issue resolution. The dispatcher will also manage heavy-haul specifics like permits and escort coordination, ensure compliance with safety and transportation regulations, and keep accurate ERP/dispatch system records.
Salary + Additional Benefits:
- $100,000-$130,000 (dependent on experience)

Location: S Houston, TX - fully onsite
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Dispatch, schedule, and manage drivers for pickup and deliveries of shipments
- Maintain continuous communication with Drivers and Stakeholders to ensure a high-quality freight movement process
- Understand and support Company, SHE-Q and Business Policies and Procedures.
- Optimizing routes with factors such as distance, traffic, and delivery schedules to maximize efficiency.
- Maintain and update accurate information in company's operating systems, tracking shipments to completion
- Coordinating daily carrier activities with customers and operations team
- Address and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transportation.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation for each shipment, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other relevant paperwork.
- Maintain records of all transactions, communications, and activities related to dispatching.
- Stay informed about transportation regulations and ensure that all dispatch activities comply with local, state, and federal laws.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Supervise the Permit Coordinator
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Heavy Haul/ Over Dimensional Freight is required
- Must have knowledge of Oil and Gas industries as well as port operations
- Knowledge of transporting and proper securement of Project Freight, Over Dimensional, and Super Loads
- Knowledge of different equipment types used for heavy haul trucking
- Must know states permit guidelines and escort requirements.
- Proficient with computers and dispatch software, including SAP
- Knowledge within the FMSCA regulations and guidelines.
