Job Description

A company in the petrochemical industry is seeking a Customer Service Representative through the end of the year. This role serves as a critical link between the company's commercial, logistics, and operations teams and its portfolio of customers, ensuring orders, shipments, and contract fulfillment run smoothly in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Salary: $24-28/hr
Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Temporary


Responsibilities:

  • Interact professionally with customers via telephone, email, online Teams chat, and in person; provide information and support related to company products and services.
  • Maintain and monitor the customer service inbox for new orders and inquiries from new and existing customers.
  • Create sales orders for and applicable customer confirmation of products and services with correct pricing and a high level of accuracy.
  • Reconcile sales information for month end activities with a high level of accuracy.
  • First point of contact for all customer questions and address complaints; elevate issues as needed to appropriate staff and management as needed.
  • Maintain customer accounts, sales order reports, and pricing information.
  • Interact closely with the accounting team to verify customer invoice information and processes are accurate.
  • Assist the accounting and finance department in the evaluation and set up process of new customers in ERP system.

Requirements:
  • 5+ of customer service experience in chemical manufacturing, oil & gas, industrial manufacturing, or related industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially strong skills in Excel and using customer databases, previous experience with Sage X3 is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Service-oriented mindset, professionalism, and ability to assist customers and bring problems and concerns to resolution
