Job Description
Our client, a stable organization in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their team. This role involves overseeing all personnel-related matters, ensuring compliance, managing employee relations, and supporting daily departmental operations within a unionized environment. The position requires a versatile individual capable of working independently on-site in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all human resource functions including personnel records, FMLA/Medical documentation, training, and I-9 compliance.
- Process job orders, accept applications, prepare application packets for review, and coordinate interviews.
- Conduct new hire orientations, and process FMLA, insurance paperwork, and complete reports such as EOM insurance and union count reports.
- Provide general administrative support for daily departmental operations and perform additional duties as directed by the company president.
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Manage workforce issues related to the hourly, unionized, primarily female workforce, including turnover, employee relations, and FMLA.
- Support white-collar recruiting efforts for sales, service staff, and technical professionals, requiring onsite presence for interviews and onboarding.
- Cultivate relationships with employees, vendors, and management while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support union interactions as needed; prior union experience is a plus but not required.
- Maintain organization and compliance with federal contractor requirements, citizenship, and green card policies.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Human Resources Manager or similar role.
- Bachelor's degree required; flexible for the right candidate.
- Professional certification such as PHR or SHRM certification is a strong plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills, confidentiality, and independence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting at all levels of the organization.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a preferred but not critical.
- Prior union experience is advantageous but not necessary, as Joe will provide training.
- Ability to work onsite; this role requires physical presence for interviews, onboarding, and employee engagement.
