Job Description

A well-established company in the oil & gas industry is seeking an HR Operations Specialist to join the team. This role will partner closely with global teams to support and improve the day-to-day operational functions of the HR department, in a hands-on and proactive capacity. The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting many aspects of the HR function, including HR operations, employee relations, and HR systems support.

Salary + Additional Benefits:

Location: West Houston, TX - fully on site
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring accurate data and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and workforce metrics to support business decisions and organizational planning.
  • Update and maintain HR procedures, documentation, and internal process guides.
  • Participate in HR initiatives focused on operational efficiency, system enhancements, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including documentation and workplace investigations as needed.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and general HR programs, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Support benefits administration by coordinating with payroll and external benefit providers.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including posting positions, scheduling interviews, and maintaining candidate records.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires and departing employees.
  • Provide cross-functional support for payroll administration as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in an HR Operations, HR Generalist, or similar role.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms; familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience creating reports or dashboards in Power BI is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment regulations, and employee benefits administration.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar) is preferred.
  • Experience supporting HR analytics, technology implementations, or process improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
