Job Description

A manufacturing company in the oil & gas services industry is seeking a Shipping Clerk to join the team. This role ensures shipments are accurately prepared, documented, and delivered in line with customer requirements and company standards, and plays a key role in supporting operational timelines and maintaining efficient logistics processes in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating the preparation and dispatch of outgoing goods from the facility.

Location: Rosenberg, TX 77471
Type of Position: Direct Hire 
Schedule: M-F, 7AM-5PM 

 

Responsibilities: 

Shipping & Dispatch 

  • Prepare, package, and document outgoing shipments in accordance with customer requirements, carrier guidelines, and internal quality standards. 

  • Verify shipment contents against work orders, packing lists, and customer documentation prior to dispatch. 

  • Generate shipping documentation, including packing slips, labels, and tracking information. 

  • Schedule pickups with carriers and ensure timely dispatch of materials. 

Coordination & Communication 

  • Coordinate with production, project teams, and operations to prioritize shipments and meet delivery deadlines. 

  • Communicate shipment status and updates to internal teams and customers as required. 

Material Handling & Warehouse Support (Must have forklift experience) 

  • Load shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment in accordance with safety protocols. 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area. 

Inventory & Record Keeping 

  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking numbers and shipment confirmations within ERP or inventory systems. 

  • Support inventory accuracy through participation in cycle counts and audits as required. 

Continuous Improvement 

  • Contribute to process improvements related to shipping accuracy, efficiency, and material handling. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations. 

 

Requirements: 

  • 3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations in a manufacturing or logistics environment 

  • Basic understanding of inventory control and shipping/receiving documentation 

  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment 

  • Experience with inventory systems, barcode scanners, or shipping software preferred 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Ability to read and follow instructions, packing slips, and labels 

  • Strong communication skills for working with internal teams and external vendors 

  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment 

  • Understanding of warehouse safety practices 

  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain upon hire 

  • Basic computer skills 

  • Experience with ERP or inventory systems preferred 

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and brings a positive, solutions-focused attitude 

  • Works well under pressure and adapts to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment 

  • Communicates clearly with team members, vendors, and delivery personnel
