  • 401K - company match

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Perform active business development and relationship-building activities to support continued revenue and market growth.
  • Research and identify new customers, projects, markets, and applications.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with EPC firms, engineering companies, contractors, project owners, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer projects, technical requirements, challenges, and timelines to identify potential solutions and business opportunities.
  • Serve as a technical and commercial resource to customers by asking effective questions, understanding project needs, and coordinating with internal engineering and project teams to develop solutions.
  • Track major capital projects from early engineering and design phases through procurement and construction to identify opportunities for involvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans for targeted customers, projects, and markets.
  • Pursue opportunities within established industrial markets while helping expand the company's presence.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's custom-engineered products, capabilities, applications, and solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, operations, and other business development professionals throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
  • Assist with the development of proposals, presentations, and other customer communications.
  • Monitor market activity, competitors, major projects, and industry trends to identify new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer contacts, opportunities, projects, and ongoing business development activities.
  • Explore new products, services, applications, and market opportunities that could support the company's continued growth.
  • Visit customers and project sites as needed and represent the company at meetings and industry events.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; PE license is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience within engineering, construction, industrial business development, technical sales, project management, or a related client-facing technical role.
  • Understanding of industrial construction and/or major capital project lifecycles, including engineering/design, procurement, and construction.
  • Experience working with EPC firms, engineering companies, contractors, or industrial project owners strongly preferred.
  • Existing relationships within major EPC organizations are highly valued but not required.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand structural, civil, construction, or engineered-product applications and communicate credibly with technical stakeholders.
  • Consultative approach to business development with the ability to uncover customer needs, ask effective technical questions, and coordinate solutions with internal engineering and project teams.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to develop long-term client partnerships.
  • Highly curious, self-motivated, and comfortable learning complex/custom technical products and applications.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new markets, projects, customers, and applications.
  • Collaborative approach to sales; comfortable working across business development, engineering, project management, and operations rather than operating within a traditional individual territory/commission structure.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%, including customer meetings, project sites, and periodic travel.
