Job Description

A fast-growing manufacturing company is seeking a Purchasing Analyst to join the team. This is an opportunity to execute and support purchasing activities for internal users, ensuring the timely procurement of materials, supplies, spare parts, and services. The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for supporting purchasing processes in compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, delivery requirements, and ISO 9001 guidelines.

Salary + Additional Benefits:

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing & Sourcing
    • Ensure the supply of raw materials, packaging, consumables, and spare parts for the Houston plant, both locally and through imports.
    • Request, analyze, and compare supplier quotations to select the most suitable option based on price, quality, and delivery terms.
    • Support the acquisition of goods and services according to internal requirements.
    • Issue purchase recommendations and support purchase order decisions.
  • Supplier Management
    • Evaluate the performance of critical suppliers based on: Product quality, Delivery times, Claims and non-conformities.
    • Identify supplier improvement opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
    • Search for, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to ensure supply continuity and cost optimization.
  • Coordination & Follow-up
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure deliveries meet quality, quantity, and delivery time requirements.
    • Follow up on pending orders and resolve delivery or quality issues.
    • Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders regarding order status.
  • Systems & Compliance
    • Support and maintain purchasing processes in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
    • Generate, modify, and validate purchasing-related documentation and procedures.
    • Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred); equivalent education and relevant purchasing experience will be considered
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations
  • Experience purchasing industrial supplies, spare parts, or electrical/mechanical materials (preferred)
  • Experience with imports (a plus)
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Microsoft Office - intermediate level
  • Spanish strongly preferred 
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills, negotiation and follow-up ability, effective communication, and ethical accountability
