Job Description

A Houston-based provider of valve repair, refurbishment, and testing services is seeking a Valve Repair Workshop Supervisor to join the team. This is an opportunity to lead a workshop team responsible for the disassembly, refurbishment, and testing of valves and actuators. The Valve Repair Workshop Supervisor is responsible for managing workflow, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and mentoring technicians in the workshop.

Salary: $33-36/hr
Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire  

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
  • Managing workflow, assigning tasks, tracking productivity to meet deadlines.
  • Provide technical assistance, on the job training and mentor junior technicians.
  • Inspect all completed production activities to ensure they meet client and company standards.
  • Inventory management, monitor workshop consumables and tooling.
  • Implement risk assessments and on all existing and new tasks.
  • Manage facility maintenance and ensure it is kept clean, safe, and organized.
  • Ensure calibrated equipment is properly maintained and stored.
  • Enforce company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Complete annual performance reviews.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 10+ years experience with disassembly and refurbishment of various valves and actuators
  • Experience with high pressure hydrostatic and gas testing
  • Experience using manual and mechanical torque equipment
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges etc
  • Able to read and interpret schematics, GA drawings and work instructions
  • Machining knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Troubleshooting and problems solving skills
