Job Description
Our client, a growing organization in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Production Planner to join their team. This role provides an opportunity for someone to contribute to production scheduling and operations in a collaborative environment. The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating manufacturing activities, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring timely delivery of products.

Responsibilities:
- Plan capacity on cell level.
- Optimize Schedule to ensure orders meet expected delivery date.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain.
- Keep Sales and Customer Service updated on orders.
- Ensure correct data in ERP system.
- Manufacturing/Service Production Scheduling work focuses on scheduling production, processing, assembly, and packaging activities including:
- Selecting and sequencing available resources and required processing to individual work centers or lines
- Implementing scheduling changes due to backlogs, design changes, machine downtime or material/labor shortages
- Responsible for reviewing the sales orders, ensuring the availability of materials for manufacturing/service to commence production, and coordinating production schedules.
- Develop and implement production plans to maximize the use of the organization's resources and meet established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards.
- Use engineering plans, contracts, and production specifications to produce schedules and production plans and estimate the human resources, tools, and equipment needed to manufacture products.
- Monitor production/service activity and analyze production data so that the flow of materials is timed to meet production requirements.
- Prepare work orders for production/service or purchase requests based on production/service schedules.
- Evaluate production/service specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and calculate machine and operator loads.
Requirements:
- One to four years of experience in materials planning, scheduling, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred
- Experience with MRP systems
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or six sigma practices is a plus
- CPIM certification is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills, with ability to adapt messaging across departments
- Capable of responding swiftly and effectively to changing production requirements
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
