Job Description
A specialized industrial service provider focused on maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing valves and related equipment is seeking a Manual Machinist to join the team in a hands-on, production-focused shop environment. The company is an API 6D certified shop that values accountability, continuous improvement, and safety. The Manual Machinist operates manual machines to manufacture, repair, and modify valve components and related parts to precise specifications, working closely with the shop foreman and other shop personnel to meet production schedules and support customer requirements.

Location: Rosharon, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Operate manual machines, including lathes, vertical mills, and a horizontal boring mill, to manufacture, repair, and modify valve components and related parts to precise specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders, setting up machines and selecting appropriate tools and materials.
- Perform measurements and inspections, using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to ensure tolerances are met.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and follow all safety and quality procedures.
- Document work performed in job travelers or service reports.
- Work closely with the shop foreman and other shop personnel to meet production schedules and support customer requirements in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Perform valve repair work as well as occasional machining of new parts to drawing.
Requirements:
- Experience operating manual machining equipment (e.g., lathes, mills, boring machines) in a production or repair shop environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
- Knowledge of machining processes, cutting speeds and feeds, tooling selection, and material properties
- Strong focus on safety and quality, including adherence to shop procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify machining issues, equipment problems, and dimensional deviations
- Ability to work independently from drawings
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift components as needed within safety guidelines
- Willingness to work in a shop environment that is not climate controlled
- Previous experience in valve service, oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industry background (preferred)
