Job Description
An international producer and supplier of corrosion-resistant glass-fiber-reinforced pipe (GRP) systems is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor to join the team. This is a newly created position resulting from the company's continued growth, including both organic and acquisitive expansion. The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for managing stock levels to ensure manufacturing and maintenance operations continuity, cost savings, and timely delivery, and collaborates with operations, maintenance, project management, and sales to maintain a balanced and efficient inventory system.

Responsibilities:
- Accountable for keeping inventory accuracy.
- Monitor supplier performance (e.g., On-Time, In-Full, delivery lead times, etc.).
- Monitor aging and inventory turnover.
- Lead the project to ensure SAP is the single source of truth for inventory and warehouse management.
- Manage a team of ~10 people. Optimize the team's overtime while ensuring.
- Enforce best practice inventory management processes including but not limited to.
- Verify that the right type and quantity of materials is received by the company. Communicate discrepancies to the Procurement Team.
- Ensure that indirect materials and spare parts are received items immediately in SAP with the proper documentation to ensure 'three-way match' and enable invoice payments without delays.
- 5'S in the warehouse area and related offices.
- Issue materials from SAP on time, with a work order.
- Perform daily cycle counts to avoid out-of-stock situations.
- Update min, max, safety stock, and reorder points in the inventory management system.
- Set up Kanban and Just in Time where appropriate.
- Identify and eliminate failed SAP inventory transactions related to the SAP COGI report.
- Ensure purchase requisitions are processed in SAP.
- Coach team in SAP and warehouse management best practices.
- Perform monthly inventory counts.
- Work towards inventory adjustment elimination in conjunction with Accounting.
- Point of contact for SAP - Inventory transactions (e.g. transfers).
- Reconciliation between SAP and physical stock.
- Lead annual physical inventory.
- Handle blocked non-conforming stock.
- Coach the Inventory management team on IT tools such as SAP and Excel.
- SAP transaction knowledge: ME21N, ME2M, ME23N, ME59N, ME31K, ME61, ME51, ME61, ME63, ME80FN, ME57, MIGO, MI01-MI07, MB52, MB5B, MB51, MB53, MC.9, MB5L.
- Responsible for maintaining physical inventories at the appropriate levels.
- Prepare ad hoc inventory reports. Update inventory Excel files required by Strategic Sourcing.
- Defines inventory strategies for direct and indirect materials. Actively participates in meetings.
- Define warehouse layout and optimize storage space. (5'S).
- Develop standard operating procedures and warehouse layouts.
- Constantly perform benchmarks with other successful organizations to cross-pollinate inventory best practices. (e.g., barcoding, sensors, scales).
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security.
- Perform other projects/duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (Industrial & Systems Engineering) or a related field (preferred)
- SAP, EAM, and Excel experience. Power BI (desirable)
- Certifications: One or more of: ISM: CPSM, APICS: CSCP, CPIM, and LEAN (preferred)
- Preferred experience: At least 5 years in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse management (Toyota). Ideally, experience managing and coaching diverse Teams
- Preferred languages: Spanish and English. German a plus
- Thrive in an intense, do-it-yourself, start-up environment. Warehouse with no AC. Open to walk long distances, boots on the ground
- Ability to work well within a cross-functional team environment
