Job Description
A leading company in the chemical manufacturing industry is seeking an EHS Manager to oversee site safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented EHS professional with strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations. Working collaboratively, the new hire will promote a safe work environment by implementing EHS programs and supporting audits while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Location: Pasadena, TX area
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT, NFPA) for the Pasadena site.
- Provide oversight, technical support, and coordination of all EHS program implementation.
- Monitor, verify, and strengthen compliance with EHS regulations.
- Advise on safe work methods and practices.
- Facilitate Risk Management analysis, reporting, and reviews.
- Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Logistics, and Quality Control teams on EHS policy implementation.
- Support integration of EHS programs with SOPs, MOPs, and ISO guidelines.
- Maintain a field presence to influence organizational behavior and resolve problems.
- Serve as lead for all compliance-based inspections and audits.
- Assign inspection/audit responsibilities to team members based on expertise.
- Represent sites in trade association activities, conferences, programs, certifications, and continuing education.
- Plan and coordinate plant-wide safety training to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure all SOPs and MOPs comply with site safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain controlled documents and procedures in compliance with the ISO manual.
- Oversee wastewater treatment/discharge permit compliance and storm water management (WWTP, SPCC).
- Add and maintain EHS data in Datacor ERP, including GHS and DOT labeling.
- Coordinate development and updating of product Safety Data Sheets (SDS) with Safety Manager, Environmental Manager, and R&D Chemist.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Chemistry (other engineering degrees considered with basic chemistry understanding)
- Excellent communication skills
- 5+ years of experience preferred
- Organized and willing to learn
- Knowledge of Texas compliance
- Ability to handle regulatory inspectors onsite
