Job Description

A leading manufacturer of industrial components is seeking a Facility Manager to lead facility operations and financial performance. The ideal candidate is an experienced manufacturing leader with strong operational and business acumen. Reporting to the Group Director, the new leader will drive results by managing operations and financial performance while ensuring efficiency, quality, and team effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
P&L Ownership & Financial Performance
  • Full accountability for revenue, cost control, and EBIT performance.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Monitor margins across repair vs new manufacture jobs.
  • Control overheads: labor efficiency, subcontracting, material costs.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial and KPI reports.
Sales & Business Growth
  • Lead and drive performance of 2 Sales Engineers + Business Manager.
  • Grow key accounts in oil & gas, power, and industrial sectors.
  • Expand customer base and recover dormant/lost clients.
  • Drive minimum monthly intake target.
  • Support pricing strategy, quotations, and key negotiations.
  • Develop and execute a growth plan to scale machinist capacity.
Workshop Operations Management
  • Oversee 5 machinists + 1 supervisor, and scale upwards within 6 months.
  • Ensure on-time delivery (OTD target ? 80%).
  • Ensure high productivity and machine utilization.
  • Ensure efficient job scheduling and workflow control.
  • Implement daily operations control board.
  • Reduce rework, scrap, and delays.
  • Optimize subcontractor usage and turnaround times.
Team Leadership & Structure Expansion
  • Direct leadership of: Workshop Supervisor & machinists, Sales Engineers, Business Manager, Admin Assistant.
  • Recruit and scale team: Additional machinists, Potential production scheduler / estimator.
  • Build a high-performance, accountable culture.
  • Conduct performance reviews and coaching.
Customer & Quality Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Drive quality compliance and root cause analysis.
  • Target <5% customer complaints.
  • Support ISO/quality system adherence.
Process & Operational Excellence
  • Implement structured workflows: Job cards, costing, estimation, production scheduling
  • Introduce KPI dashboards: OTD, sales vs target, margin per job
  • Improve lead times and workshop efficiency.
  • Standardize best practices aligned with group operations across world.
Strategic Growth & Capacity Expansion
  • Develop roadmap to increase workshop capacity (machinists + equipment) and expand service offerings (e.g., large bearings, faster turnaround).
  • Evaluate capex investments.
  • Drive local market positioning in Houston.

Requirements:
  • Experience successfully managing a manufacturing or industrial service facility with full commercial responsibility.
  • Experience within rotating equipment, precision machining, bearing repair, power generation, or the oil & gas sector would be highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience managing full P&L responsibility
  • Strong exposure to oil & gas / power sector customers
  • Experience in workshop operations + sales leadership
  • Strong commercial acumen (pricing, margins, negotiations)
  • Leadership and team-building capability
  • Operational discipline and process-driven mindset
  • Ability to scale business and drive growth
  • Strong decision-making and accountability
  • Bearings / rotating equipment / turbomachinery experience preferred
  • Experience in repair + manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with Texas industrial market preferred
