Job Description

A leading manufacturer of valves and related products is seeking a Welding Inspector to support welding production and quality assurance activities. The ideal candidate is a certified and detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of welding codes and manufacturing standards. Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams, the new hire will ensure weld quality and compliance by performing inspections, verifying documentation, and guiding shop-floor practices while promoting safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Location: Houston TX 77092
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Test and inspect welds and cuts in accordance with established production and quality control guidelines.
  • Ensure strict compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Confirm that materials match sales order documents and check for accuracy and proper weld.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including daily safety checks of equipment and proper storage of materials.
  • Assist with direction of welders and jobs in the weld shop.
  • Handle all quality needs for welding QA, WO, and dimensional checks.
  • Ensure accurate completion of weld maps and proper hard-stamping of production components.

Requirements:
  • Current AWS CWI certification, or the ability to recertify within 60 days of employment
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Prior experience with pressure vessels
  • Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding codes
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and use measuring tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems
  • Knowledge of NDE methods such as RT, PT, UT, and MT
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with engineers to solve production issues related to welding
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
