Job Description
A premier energy marketing and infrastructure firm is looking for a VP of Gas Origination responsible for originating natural gas opportunities through pipeline transport, storage, end-user agreements, producer supply, and other types of natural gas transactions. The ideal candidate has an in-depth knowledge of physical & financial markets and a deep understanding of the physical fundamentals of the market and trading practices. Communicating effectively, the new VP will meet/exceed business objectives through relationship development, energy industry knowledge, and physical & financial expertise while maintaining long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities:
- Originate new producer and end user accounts, identify and call on prospective clients, generate ideas for structured transactions, and manage existing client portfolios.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and prospective clients through relationship development, energy industry knowledge, and physical and financial expertise.
- Maintain existing client relationships with a focus on Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.
- Ability to market the Company’s additional ancillary services to prospective, new, and existing clients and have a deep understanding of the client’s needs.
- Provide hedge recommendations and optimizations strategies as the market presents opportunities.
- Develop creative hedging strategies, presentations, and lead client meetings with C- level executives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University with a focus on Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy industry with emphasis on commodity derivatives or related experience
- MBA is preferred but not required
- Sound knowledge of trading processes and capital markets
- Accredited relationships with producers, E&P companies, bankers, PE Firms, and other trading companies
- Deep understanding of physical fundamentals of the market and trading practices
- Ability to work with a team and independently
- Excellent written and verbal skills
