A leading financial services company is seeking a VP, Business Development to lead business development and membership growth.. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with strong business development experience and the ability to build executive-level relationships. Working cross-functionally, the new leader will accelerate growth initiatives by acquiring and developing new partner groups and deepening existing relationships while coaching the team, aligning internal stakeholders, and advancing the organization’s overall business objectives.Â

Responsibilities: Â
Business Development & Growth Strategy
- Contribute to and execute strategies to enroll, activate, and grow Select Employer Groups (SEGs) and corporate sponsors, directly sourcing opportunities and engaging C-suite decision-makers.
- Own overall sales and membership growth targets, including new member acquisition, deposits, and loans.
- Actively contribute to business development as an individual contributor while also mentoring and guiding the team to achieve SEG and membership growth goals.Â
- Oversee hiring, performance management, coaching, incentive programs, and ongoing professional development to drive accountability and results.
- Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with sponsors, SEGs, and key stakeholders, balancing sponsor-employee needs with Credit Union objectives.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of SEG and sponsor relationships, ensuring retention, measurable value delivery, long-term engagement, and financial performance.
- Partner with Marketing, Branch, Lending, and Member Services teams to develop and execute targeted SEG activation, prospecting, and deepening programs.
- Establish clear performance metrics, track and report results, ensure accountability for growth outcomes, and continuously refine strategies to optimize impact.

- 8-10 years of related experience, including significant proactive outbound sales and business development experience in B2BÂ
- 5+ years of experience managing a sales or business development functionÂ
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated qualificationsÂ
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and writtenÂ
- Ability to proficiently read and interpret information on systems and documents Â
- Ability to write in English using correct spelling and grammarÂ
- Ability to speak tactfully and effectively in English to members, volunteers, prospects, and employees at all levels of the organizationÂ
- Excellent sales/persuasive skillsÂ
- Excellent customer service skillsÂ
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change; ability to quickly learn specialized applications and systemsÂ
- Initiative and self-directionÂ
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with people at all levelsÂ
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making ability, including the ability to prioritize  Â
