Job Description

A fast-growing, medium-sized accounting firm is looking for a Tax Manager to oversee the financial reporting and initiatives for designated clients. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent interpersonal abilities and has expertise in preparing and evaluating tax returns. With a comprehensive understanding of federal and multi-state taxation, the new leader will positively impact the business by ensuring the accuracy and general efficiency of the tax accounting department while prioritizing client satisfaction.
                                                               
Salary + Additional Benefits:
  • $120,000-$150,000

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with clients and manage relationships as the primary point of contact.
  • Review tax returns - individual (1040), trust/estate (1041), partnership (1065), S corp (1120S), C corp (1120), and gift tax returns (709).
  • Lead a team of staff accountants and supervise their work.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in accounting preferred
  • Active Texas CPA license required
  • 5 years of tax experience
  • 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work required
