Job Description

A global manufacturing company in the plate heat exchanger industry is looking for a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to plan, direct, and monitor all supply and logistics activities to ensure a cost-effective flow of merchandise from suppliers to customers. The ideal candidate is a supply chain & logistics management expert who knows logistics technology & best practices. Working cross-functionally, the new leader will develop and implement process improvements and technologies to increase productivity & cost-efficiency in compliance with company policies & procedures.
            
Salary + Additional Benefits:

Responsibilities: 
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of professional staff and factory staff so the organization has access to the materials and inputs it needs to operate, and ensure all materials and goods are handled, stored, and distributed safely, cost-effectively, and on-time.
  • Manage or perform procurement, supply chain, and logistics work for materials and finished goods, or products for resale, including two or more of the following:
    • Procurement
    • Demand / Inventory Control / Production Planning & Control
    • Warehousing, Distribution & Transportation
    • Shipping & Receiving
    • International Trade
  • Manage day-to-day supply and logistics activities to maximize the efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of the organization's supply chain. 
  • Responsible for managing supplier negotiations, pricing, and supplier agreements.
  • Maintain and/or develop and implement standard work for supply chain and logistics procedures.
  • Activities may include inventory level management, storage, warehousing, logistics, transport and distribution. 
  • Develop and implement vendor management and procedures.
  • Allocate resources to meet targets in areas such as transit and delivery times, inventory levels, purchasing, warehousing, and storage costs and service standards. 
  • Liaise with functional and operational area managers (e.g., Quality, Operations, Production Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Customer Service, and Sales) to ensure supply activities are integrated with other parts of the business. 
  • Work closely and proactively with production planning, purchasing, and sales/customer service to establish and maintain inventory levels that support the factory build schedule.
  • Select and manage ongoing relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to minimize costs and ensure satisfactory standards of service. 
  • Work with company counterparts globally to establish and maintain effective supply chain and logistics policy and procedures.
  • Prioritize spending and achieve volume, timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Accountabilities
    • Policy and strategy implementation for short-term results (1 year or less)
    • Establish and maintain KPI’s for supply chain and vendor management that drive both individual and department performance.
    • Regular reporting and continuous improvement of business metrics such as:  On-time Delivery, Vendor Management/Score Card, Safety Stock level management, etc.
    • Work collaboratively with Quality, Operations, Production Planning, Procurement, Engineering, and Sales/Customer Service to determine and resolve root causes of vendor related issues.
    • Performance Management – maintain consistent performance measurements to continuously achieve high levels of employee performance.
    • Talent Development – establish and maintain employee development and succession planning to achieve organizational workforce needs.
    • Follow & drive HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) and related work instructions and assist implementation of HSE regulations and policies.

Requirements:
  • Accredited University Degree (or international equivalent)
  • 5+ years of related experience, including supervision
  • 5+ years of experience of supply chain & logistics management in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience in a lean and/or six sigma environment preferred
  • Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements in sales, operations, and material requirements 
  • Effectively communicate with internal business partners, both orally and in writing. English preferred (bi-lingual is a plus)

  • Ability to organize and coordinate effectively and to set priorities in a manner which ensures maximum performance and goal accomplishment
