Job Description
One of the world’s leaders in engineering, advisory, and project management for energy is looking for a Structural Engineer to perform and lead structural engineering analysis and design of offshore structures. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with knowledge in analyzing/designing structural models and familiar with all phases of the design life of an offshore facility. Reporting to the Lead Structural Engineer, the new team member will meet/exceed business objectives through effective process implementation while ensuring compliance with company guidelines & procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Technical
- Function as a lead structural design engineer/specialist to perform engineering analysis and design of offshore structures or components.
- Function as the lead structural engineer/specialist for projects when assigned, including discipline work planning, coordinate with structural designers and other disciplines.
- Document analysis and design work in project design files in accordance with department discipline procedures.
- Create technical reports, specifications, procedures, and schedules to support projects.
- Prepare engineering input to structural design drawings and coordinate with the Drafter / structural designer and other disciplines in the generation of them.
- Check and approve structural drawings produced in accordance with company procedures and/or work instructions.
- When required, professionally stamp drawings, engineering analysis, and design documents in a manner consistent with the rules for its application.
- Non-Technical/Supervisory
- Ensure compliance with company internal QMS procedures and company policies.
- Possess strong communication and leadership skills.
- Actively participate on project teams to meet required goals of our clients.
- Lead, manage, and mentor less experienced structural engineers.
- Participate in client presentations when required.
- Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art technology and market trends affecting company products and services, and recommend responsive actions.
- Represent the company in a positive and professional manner.
- Participate in any other tasks assigned by the VP of Operations and Engineering.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; MS preferred
- PE registration in Texas preferred
- 5-10+ years of experience working for consulting engineers, oil and gas exploration/production companies, or installation contractors
- Floating facilities experience
- Brownfield upgrade experience preferred
- Expert knowledge of fixed jacket / topsides global in-service analysis (operating and extreme event) and pre-service analysis (transportation, launch/upending, lift, on-bottom stability), and fatigue analysis
- Expert knowledge of member local analysis and design (e.g., joint cans, piles, beams, plate, columns)
- Expert knowledge of foundation design (i.e., underwater and surface-driven piles, skirt foundations, mudmats)
- Experience with SACS software
- Expert knowledge of structural drawing practice (both specification and interpretation of content)
- Expert knowledge of the current edition of the main offshore facility design codes e.g., AISC WSD, AWS D1.1, API (API RP2A, API RP2-SIM, and other structural guidelines)
- Working knowledge of hydrodynamic load calculation
- Knowledge of all phases of the design life of an offshore facility from fabrication, transport, offshore installation, in-service to decommissioning

- Software Skills
- SACS (essential)
- Navisworks (desired)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Project) required
