Job Description
An industry-leading wire and cable manufacturer is looking for a Strategic Account Manager responsible for retaining key accounts, maximizing company’s share of account/profitability within those key accounts, and further developing targeted existing customers. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of channel shipping/receiving methodology and operating systems and has excellent business acumen. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the new leader will positively impact the business by effectively communicating and executing strategic plans to increase profitability and cost-effectiveness while continuing to build the company brand.
Salary + Additional Benefits:

Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Maintain communication with distributor partners on relevant topics, including macro economy, industry metrics, new service or product offerings, product roadmaps, strategic plans, and beneficial activities.
- Forecast annual market sales and profitability per business unit at strategic accounts versus industry growth.
- Follow and track distributor organization changes, key personnel, including corporate officers, while cultivating and building relationships.
- Follow sales, inventory, and pricing metrics with each assigned distributor, down to the local level.
- Prepare sales analyses/reports as required.
- Ensure appropriate actions and focus are maintained on client retention.
- Develop methods or tools to assist internal sales teams per business unit as well as distributor locations/districts/regions in reaching their goals; focus on meeting monthly sales goals, driving utilization of key products and services, and selling new products and services in existing accounts.
- Manage, negotiate, renew, and enforce customer contracts, including copper contracts and interpret contract laws for top management.
- Represent the organization in industry association, corporate, and NEMRA meetings, and provide market and client feedback to Engineering, Product Development, Operations, Marketing, and other pertinent internal departments.
- Participate in budget preparation as well as expense management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Industrial Distribution preferred
- Must have at least 1+ years of Industrial Sales experience
- Knowledge of distributor methodology, market approaches and value propositions versus channel competition, and how we position strategically
- Knowledge of the channel shipping/receiving methodology and operating systems
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, IIR, and DISC processes
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows tools
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time both by vehicle or airplane
