Job Description

A leading design and fabrication company is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer to support structural design and project delivery. The ideal candidate is a technically strong professional with expertise in structural analysis and project coordination. Working collaboratively, the new hire will drive project success by performing design and analysis while ensuring quality, compliance, and timely execution.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the client, consultants, project team, disciplinary engineering departments, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and monitor detailed project scope and schedule.
  • Prepare basic engineering requirements and basic engineering design data.
  • Review and interpret design requirements and incorporate into detail design.
  • Coordinate scheduling of engineering activities to issue drawings, specifications, and purchase orders, assuring receipt of information from the client, process licensors, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet the overall engineering and construction schedule.
  • Coordinate engineering work done by joint venture's structural group to include vendors and clients.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • P.E. (Texas preferred)
  • Seven (7) years plus experience of detailed structural design engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Software Experience Preferred: RISA 3D, Solidworks Simulation, TNX Tower, Helicap, Lpile, and Matcad
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products
  • Experience with an ERP system is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering technology, codes, and standards, in the USA
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of the full project lifecycle
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
  • Strong capability of using available resources to complete tasks at hand
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings to determine materials, dimensions and specifications
