Job Description

A leading oil and gas company is seeking a Head of Organizational Development to lead the design, implementation, and management of programs and strategies. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who is well-versed in organizational development and equipped with a comprehensive HR skill set. Working closely with senior leadership and HR teams, the new director will focus on meeting business objectives by identifying areas for improvement, initiating organizational change, and enhancing organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, leadership development, and overall workplace culture.

Salary: $210,000-$230,000 + 35% STI + 45% LTI
Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, implementation, running, and continuous improvement of new people processes and systems within Organizational Development fields such as People Performance Management, Talent Management, Employee Engagement, and Leadership Development.
  • Drive the development and implementation of strategic projects.
  • Act as a sparring partner to HR Partners on Organizational Development topics.
  • Be a recognized and sought organizational expert of organizational interventions by stakeholders.
  • Diagnose and conceptualize organizational interventions to support business and HR strategies.
  • Ensure senior stakeholder support and commitment for interventions.
  • Design and maintain interventions and deploy through HR Business Partners.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices to ensure efficacy of organizational development projects.
  • Oversee other change management projects as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or OD related field is required; Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years of HR/OD related experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a large, complex organization
  • Proven track record within the fields of Organizational Development, specifically within People Performance Management, Talent Management, Employee Engagement, and Leadership Development
  • Strong and broad HR toolbox and various levers which can be pulled to shape an organization
  • Experience with developing talent development programs and initiatives as well as coaching senior leaders  
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing organizational development strategies and initiatives
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and trends
  • A structured approach to problem solving and strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written/oral and presentation/facilitation skills
  • Strong personal drive, curiosity, and team player
  • Ability to adapt to change in the work environment and manage competing demands, and to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Comfortable interfacing with stakeholders and employees across the organization
  • An ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with exceptional judgment and discretion
