Job Description

A leading company specializing in hygienic tubes and fittings is seeking a Shop Manager to oversee daily workshop operations and lead the manufacturing team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on and experienced manufacturing leader with a strong background in welding and industrial workshop management. Working collaboratively, the new hire will ensure efficient operations and high-quality output by managing workflow and supporting team performance while helping drive operational growth and continuous improvement.

Location: Spring, TX 77373
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily operations of the workshop, including welders, fitters, CNC machinists, and general factory operators.
  • Ensure workflow is efficient, organized, and meets production standards.
  • Review weld quality and provide guidance, using hands-on welding experience or supervisory expertise.
  • Evaluate and vet candidates for trade positions, including TIG welders, to ensure they meet required skill standards.
  • Collaborate with international leadership and training teams to onboard and train staff on specialized processes.
  • Support preparation for ISO and customer audits by ensuring compliance and readiness.
  • Maintain safety standards, ensuring all employees use proper PPE and follow workplace safety protocols.
  • Coordinate scheduling, overtime, and task assignments based on production demands.
  • Contribute to team building, hiring, and onboarding processes to grow the workshop efficiently.

Requirements:
  • 3–7 years of workshop supervision experience, ideally managing a team of 10–20 employees
  • Strong welding background (TIG preferred), or supervisory experience in a welding/manufacturing environment
  • Experience with stainless steel (Inox) and precision manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Proven track record in scaling operations, managing workflow, and handling startup or greenfield projects
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to assess skill competency quickly and provide practical guidance
  • Flexible and willing to take on tasks outside the immediate scope if workflow requires
  • Previous experience in food, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or other high-precision industries preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO or similar customer audits preferred
  • Experience working with global leadership or multinational teams preferred
