Job Description

A global manufacturing company in the plate heat exchanger industry is looking for a Service Supervisor responsible for directing the operations performed in a shift or group of the service team. The ideal candidate is a LEAN expert who knows service management best practices. Communicating effectively, the new leader will achieve productivity goals by ensuring compliance with established production specifications & schedules, cost metrics, and safety & quality standards while meeting/exceeding customer expectations.

Location: Houston, TX 77041
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of a team of production workers
  • Supervise staff to ensure that all production tasks are performed and all machines and equipment are operated safely.
  • Provide training and coaching when needed.
  • Develop and implement production schedules and procedures
  • Execute LEAN practices.
  • Plan and monitor production activities to achieve cost and quality targets and production schedules.
  • Drive the coordination of shop activities between production and service.
  • Drive the process flow while being the liaison between the shop floor and office personnel.
  • Monitor monthly inspections and compliance objectives.
  • Monitor the volume and quality of output and adjust tasks, timing, equipment set-up, or inputs so that production specifications are met and resources are used efficiently.
  • Prepare production reports so that performance problems can be identified and resolved.
  • Ensure compliance of applicable standards, such as: Policy, SOP, ISO, ASME, etc.
  • Manage the development, engagement, and retention of employees that meet the measurable department objectives.
  • Interact and communicate with employees to monitor performance, engagement, and employee development
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Accountabilities
    • Follow and ensure employee adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and related work instructions.
    • Assist with implementation of HSE regulations and policies.
    • Assist in setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results: Safety; Quality; Delivery; and Productivity (SQDP).
    • Manage the development, engagement, and retention of employees.
    • Plan, organize, schedule, and control production.
    • Ensure all products are produced efficiently, on-time, within budget, and to standard.
    • Drive the lean enterprise system in all phases in the production process.
    • Meet the department objectives/KPI’s.
    • Lead the Production department in all Continuous Improvement and Lean Initiatives.

Requirements:
  • High School Education diploma, or equivalent
  • Accredited Technical Diploma or University Degree (or international equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of service management experience
  • Minimum 2+ years production supervisory experience
  • Heat Exchanger experience is a plus
  • LEAN experience in manufacturing environment
  • LEAN bronze Certification preferred
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external business partners, English preferred
  • Maintain compliance with organizational Core Values
  • Exhibit and develop organizational Leadership Competencies
  • Create, maintain, and comply Production SOP’s
