Job Description

A leading accounting firm is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to provide expert tax preparation, compliance, and planning services for high-net-worth individuals and privately held businesses. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and client-focused professional with strong technical expertise in tax law and business planning. Communicating effectively, the new team member will enhance client relationships by managing tax return reviews, mentoring junior staff, and staying current on tax regulations while ensuring compliance, optimizing tax strategies, and contributing to business development.

Salary + Additional Benefits:
  • $75,000 - $100,000 + 2x Annual Discretionary Bonus/Incentives

Location: Houston, TX 77024
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Review and see to completion preparation of federal and state individual, corporate, partnership and trust tax returns of varying complexities; prepare complex returns for multinational corporations and taxable estates.
  • Build and manage client relationships.
  • Develop, motivate, and train staff level team members.
  • Apply technical expertise to a client’s business and tax planning needs.
  • Manage IRS examinations and correspondence.
  • Keep up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
  • Assist with new business development.
  • Thoroughly research tax issues and effectively communicate the results of your research.
  • Assist in the administration of our firm.

Requirements:
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification or CPA eligible
  • 3 or more years of public accounting experience
  • Some review experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable interfacing with clients
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
