Job Description

One of the largest independent generator companies in the south-central U.S. is looking for a professional, outgoing Sales Representative to develop new business in the Houston territory. The ideal candidate is a self-starter committed to excellence and knows diesel & natural gas engine generators. Working closely with clients, the new team member will increase sales revenue by ensuring service quality and world-class customer experience.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

  • Develop new business in the Houston territory and both maintain and improve relationships with existing and potential service customers.
  • Responsible for following up with customers throughout the selling process, assisting customers with documentation, assisting in formulation of marketing plans for the branch, as well as providing weekly contact and quote reports as requested.
  • Manage sales/product portfolio.
    • Planned Maintenance (PM) Agreements
    • Load bank testing
    • Quoted repair work (fuel services and service time/material repairs)
    • Extended Warranties
    • Maximize Customer-Facing selling time
    • Build customer relationships
    • Sales opportunity detection
    • Close profitable orders
    • Achieve assigned sales quota
    • Produce year-over-year sales growth
    • Reporting & data entry: Customer Relationship Management (CRM) & Sales Forecasting
    • Overnight Travel

  • High school diploma or equivalent; College preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the emergency power generation industry
  • Basic knowledge of diesel and natural gas engine generators or electrical knowledge is a strong plus
  • Proven track record of closing sales and obtaining new business
  • Strong relationship maintenance

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency and drive for success
  • Must work well in a team environment
