Job Description


A well-established chemical manufacturing company is looking for a Sales Representative to be responsible for account management and new business development. The ideal candidate is a technical sales expert with a deep understanding of the sales process & best practices. Working with autonomy, the new team member will increase revenue growth and profitability by boosting customer acquisition levels while ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining profitable client relationships.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct hire

  • Responsible for NAFTA customer sales growth: lead follow up and customer acquisition.
  • Assist with customer lead investigations and projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for customer relationship development for assigned accounts.
  • Manage customer quotations – new leads, assigned accounts, and affiliates.
  • Manage customer price lists.
  • Create sample (sales) process; request samples; document and update outcome of client evaluation on time metrics (defined below).
  • Document sales leads and investigations and contacts; assist Sales Managers with visit report and sample follow up.
  • Perform transaction economic evaluation to determine profitability (Quote Worksheet).
  • Responsible for customer pricing notifications and documentation; direct accounts and assist to Sales Managers and General Manager.
  • Act as Customer Satisfaction Sales Coordinator for client’s information to be used in the annual assessment.
  • Respond to lead emails or calls within 1 business day.
  • Prepare weekly report on sample status.
  • Create reports - weekly (end of business on Tuesdays) on sales development leads and assigned accounts.
  • Submit CRM visit/call reports within 1 business day of the activity.


  • Bachelor’s degree (chemistry, materials science, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in technical sales
  • Growth of company business through sales opportunities customer relationships, pricing, and sampling
  • Document intelligence and information via CRM and Visit Reports with effective and timely communications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong ability to take initiative and work independently
