Job Description

A well-established chemical manufacturing company is looking for a Sales Manager to achieve defined targets for new business. The ideal candidate is a sales expert with extensive knowledge of horizontal drilling and water wells. Working closely with a team, the new team member will achieve sales growth objectives by developing an effective business development strategy while maintaining continuous improvement and client relationships in compliance with company policies & processes.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Present and sell products and services to new customers.
  • Prospect and contact potential customers - cold calling will be required.
  • Build relationships by prospecting, developing and implementing strategies for business growth opportunities for new and existing customers. 
  • Participate and potentially present at trade shows.
  • Service will be involved in this position and field job site experience is required.
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively to achieve goals and objectives. 
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive client base through networking and cold calling. 
  • Collect competitor information to be reported on a regular basis. 

Requirements:
  • Drilling fluids experience with Horizontal boring, water well, civil and/or mining markets.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of combined experience in city sales and field sales experience, selling into the horizontal boring, water well and/or mining markets.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • The ability to travel domestically and potentially internationally 50% of the time. 
  • Previous experience in sales in this industry, selling drilling fluids additives into the horizontal directional drilling market.
  • Current customer base in the industry for fast start.
  • Free of non-compete agreement that would limit customer base.
  • Aggressive approach to growing company's presence in these markets
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Gmail, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and excel. 
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop successful relationships with customers and team members. 
  • Ability to work with a small team
