Job Description

A leading provider of automation solutions and services is seeking a Sales Engineer to support business development activities and drive growth through client relationships. The ideal candidate is a motivated professional with strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Working collaboratively, the new hire will assist in lead generation, prepare technical and commercial proposals, and ensure alignment between technical and commercial teams by effectively communicating client requirements and offering tailored solutions, while contributing to business growth and strengthening client relationships.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in lead generation and qualification through market research and outreach.
  • Support the sales team by preparing technical/commercial proposals and presentations.
  • Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to ensure solution alignment.
  • Attend virtual and in-person client meetings to understand requirements and present offerings.
  • Manage and update CRM entries and ensure proper documentation of sales activities.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the company’s portfolio to communicate value propositions effectively.
  • Participate in marketing and sales campaigns targeting specific sectors.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, etc.)
  • 1–2 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably with some exposure to inside sales, proposals, or client interactions
  • Must have solution-based selling experience within industrial automation or control systems
  • Hands-on or sales experience with PLCs 
  • Prior experience in industrial automation, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors is strongly preferred
  • A keen interest in developing a career in front-end sales
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand technical solutions and convey them in a commercial context
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and willing to take initiative
