Job Description

A leading professional services firm is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth by identifying and securing new client opportunities. The ideal candidate is a strategic sales professional with strong relationship-building and market development skills. Working collaboratively, the new hire will drive revenue growth by developing relationships with prospective clients while working with internal teams to position and win new engagements.

Salary + Additional Benefits:

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities: 
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities. Utilize strong "hunting" capabilities to uncover and pursue leads. Engage in qualifying discussions with prospects to understand their unique challenges, budget constraints, and decision timeframes. 
  • Conduct market analysis to understand potential clients, capital project construction outlook and plans, and industry trends and use insights to shape near-term and long-term goals to expand the company’s document control and drawing management client base. 
  • Work closely with practice directors and the professional services delivery team to devise strategies for pursuing and winning new engagements. Identify target organizations and personas. 
  • et opportunities and make recommendations (i.e., conduct a go-no-go evaluation with leadership) and move forward with qualifying prospects and shaping opportunities.
  • Monitor personal performance against established KPIs within the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and continuously evaluate process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department and EIM practice director to develop marketing messages, participate in sector-specific conferences and other marketing events and support campaigns.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or other related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business development sales activities 
  • Experience in selling professional services 
  • Knowledge of architectural/engineering and construction documentation and processes 
  • Industry knowledge in energy/oil and gas, engineering and construction, or manufacturing 
  • Fluent with Microsoft 365 Suite, especially PowerPoint 
  • Salesforce and HubSpot knowledge is a plus 
  • Strong capability in lead generation 
  • Excellent written communication skills 
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at every level 
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams 
  • Takes the initiative to learn and apply new skills and tools 
  • Ability to reprioritize, as necessary, while continuing to meet deadlines 
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills 
  • A problem solver, able to clearly articulate fit-for-purpose recommendations
  • Certification from an accredited sales training program (e.g., Sandler Training) is a plus
  • Flexible and willing to work after hours and across time zones, as needed 
  • Must have a valid TX driver’s license and reliable transportation 
  • Approximately 30% travel required
