Job Description

A well-established chemical manufacturing company is looking for a Quality Technical Manager to provide technical assistance to the sales and supply chain departments. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge in quality management and product process methodologies. Working cross-functionally, the new team member will positively impact the business by providing comprehensive support and developing technological innovation strategies aligned with company objectives.

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to sales and supply chain.
  • Responsible for product quality process oils and wax.
  • Act as Quality Management Representative.
  • Audit lead for suppliers.
  • Maintain regional product documents – product technical data sheets, customer quality requirements, quality reporting on technical data.
  • Provide regional support to Product Managers & Technical Managers.
  • Responsible for supply chain management.
  • Provide inventory management support.
  • Provide forecasting and production planning support.
  • Responsible for FMIS tracking and documentation.
  • Provide logistics support, especially rail car tracking and planning.
  • Provide vendor pricing support.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly team meetings.
  • Provide internal and external audit support.

Requirements:
  • BS or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering Required.
  • Product technology – application, attributes, blending property predictions, health & safety
  • Product process technology
  • 6+ years of experience with Base oil refinery lab or Lubricant blending lab
  • Quality management expertise – product quality control, process audit skills, logistics expertise
  • Manufacturing, selling or marketing of petroleum products to the rubber, adhesives, or wax industries
  • Technical manager in related industrial field
