Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:Â
- Quality Policy and Objectives
- Ensure high-quality product output.
- Minimize defects and rejections.
- Achieve Customer Satisfaction and Business Success.
- Inspection and Testing
- Startup Inspection
- Ensure the line is clear from previous production and the next production items match the work order.Â
- Inspect the quality of the product at the startup to ensure meeting all the in-process inspection criteria.
- Process and calibration: Monitor colorant feeder calibration log and settings during production.
- Frequent In-process Inspection
- The production parts must meet the following criteria during inspection: Weight, Color, Material, Appearance: No visible defects ? flash (sharp edges, or rough surfaces), short, burns, splay, grease, contamination, air bubbles….
- Frequent Final Product Inspection
- Product quality and quantity in the final packagingÂ
- Packaging quality
- Case label position and content (if applicable)
- Pallet Tie / Hi
- Pallet wrapping condition.
- Pallet label content accuracy
- Functional: Assemble a unit and ensure ease of assembly and functionality.
- Startup Inspection
- Defect Identification and Correction: Utilize established guidelines and criteria to handle the defect and implement correction.
- Non-Conformance Handling
- Follow process for managing non-conforming products.
- Utilize root cause analysis to identify and address issues.
- Training and Competence
- Ensure that all production personnel are trained in quality control procedures and standards.
- Provide ongoing training and refresher courses as needed.
- New member training based on Quality guidelines.
- Quality Audits
- Conduct regular internal audits of operations and processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Review the QC plan periodically and update it to reflect changes in material, processes, or regulations.
- Line clear audits
- Supplier Quality Assurance
- Verify quality of incoming material to ensure consistent quality of raw materials, review COAs.
- Gather data and report nonconforming material, including parts from Israel.
- Documentation and Record Keeping in IQMS
- Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, including material inspections, calibrations, process control data, and inspection results.Â
- Create systematic documentation and traceability of materials and products.
- Record any deviations from quality standards and the actions taken to address them (Change Management).
- Retain records for at least two years.Â
- Documented Procedures
- Develop standardized work instructions and procedures.
- Document all quality-related activities and make them accessible to employees.
- Customer Feedback and Satisfaction
- Collect and analyze customer feedback.
- Use feedback to drive product improvements and meet customer expectations.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update the quality control program to reflect evolving needs.
- Communication: Maintain open communication channels for addressing quality-related issues within the organization.
- Quality Metrics and Reporting
- Regularly report key quality performance metrics to management.
- Use data to inform business decisions and assess program effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant technical certification in quality control is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of plastic injection molding experienceÂ
- Bilingual; Spanish and English preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection processes
- Ability in using/willing to learn measuring and testing equipment such as scale, spectrophotometer, calipers, etc.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively deliver inspection results and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve common quality goals
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and quality standards is advantageous
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
