Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:Â
- Customer Support: Provide exceptional support to customers and customer service team by delivering prompt, accurate, and professional responses to quality-related inquiries, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.Â
- ISO Certification & Compliance: Ensure ISO:9001 certification and compliance while driving continuous improvement and process enhancements to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate product quality.
- Audit Leadership: Lead customers, vendor, and internal audits as the Quality Management System representative, coordinating audits to ensure compliance with internal standards and external requirements, ensuring 100% audit readiness and compliance.Â
- Calibration Management: Oversee and ensure the timely calibration of all relevant equipment, including calipers, height gauges, counting scales, force-checking equipment, optical comparators, ovens, etc., to ensure 100% on-time calibration and minimize down-time impact to the company by scheduling calibrations appropriately.Â
- MRB Committee Leadership: Lead the MRB committee in investigating and resolving quality issues. Facilitate meetings with vendors, customers, and internal teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and manage NCR generation and follow-through.
- KPI Reporting: Report monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) to the General Manager, tracking metrics such as customer quality acceptance percentage (99% standard), internal quality acceptance percentage (98% standard), and first article turn time (25-minute standard), and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Primary Quality Control Resource: Oversee all quality control processes, from incoming materials, first article inspections, in-process inspections, final product inspections and shipments to customers ensuring consistent quality standards. Coordinate and manage all source inspection activities, including pre-production and in-process inspections, to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Quality Training Programs: Design and implement ongoing quality control training programs for key personnel to ensure skills and knowledge remain up to date with industry standards and company needs.
- Inspection Participation: Participate in first article and final inspections as necessary to support timely order completion and ensure alignment with customer specifications. (Could align with vision if you emphasize this as part of hands-on leadership and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, ISO standards, and audit processes
- Expertise in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and non-conformance reporting (NCRs)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage customers, suppliers, and team members effectively
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in mentoring and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and workplace safety standards
- Self-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field
- ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management System certification preferred
- Additional certifications in quality control, safety management, or leadership (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, OSHA) is a plus
