Job Description
A national leader in developing and manufacturing gaskets, molded, and machined plastics is looking for a Purchasing Clerk – Data Entry responsible for requesting quotes from suppliers for efficient delivery of products and services. The ideal candidate is highly organized and understands purchasing processes & best practices. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the new team member will increase business efficiency through effective communication, ensuring accuracy and organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests following company’s QMS procedures.
- Compare suppliers' bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy.
- Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
- Monitor the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
- Request new quotes from suppliers.
- Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
- Review open orders to receive updates on the product and add materials and traceability to orders in the ERP system prior to communicating with the accounting department.
- Create part numbers and monitor surplus inventory.
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists as needed.
- Provide company drivers with a list of materials that must be obtained from local suppliers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Supply Chain Management or related field required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
- At least one year of Supply Chain experience required
- Good in Math
- Negotiating Skills

- Communication Skills
- Detail Orientation
