Job Description

Location: San Jose, CA
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:Â
- Develop customer base to bring in potential projects.Â
- Evaluate potential opportunities to ensure validity and that the company can be successful.Â
- Work with estimating department to develop plan to bid project.Â
- Review project documentation prior to bidding project to become familiar with requirements.Â
- Perform take offs of various electrical system, including low voltage and instrumentation and controls if required.Â
- Review estimate with estimating team and management.
- Develop scope letter detailing inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.Â
- Develop and foster relationships with subcontractors and material suppliers.Â
- Organize an effective plan to manage the job during construction; coordinate efforts of field managers, finance, accounting, purchasing, and upper management.Â
- Maintain drawing and document files within company software system.Â
- Support project documentation including change order management, RFI management, and submittal management.Â
- Price and negotiate all change orders.Â
- Visit and walk job site to assess progress and meet with field team.Â
- Work with union workers to ensure productivity goals are met.Â
- Oversee project financials by review job costs on a regular basis.Â
- Prepare monthly WIP and forecasting of project costs.Â
- Responsible for preparing and maximizing monthly billing requests.Â
- Interface with clients including attending owners and weekly job meetings.Â
- Oversee project closeout process and documentation turn over.Â
- Perform additional assignments per manager's direction.Â
- Take job specific training as necessary.
- Attend management meetings as requested.
- Communicate and partner with team and client to ensure a high-quality project is delivered on time and company financial goals are met.Â
- Perform other responsibilities may be assigned as needed by management.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s in engineering, Construction Management preferredÂ
- Extensive electrical and National Electrical Code (NEC) knowledgeÂ
- OSHA 10 or 30 CertificationÂ
- At least 5 years of electrical project management experience in commercial/industrial/high tech industryÂ
- Skilled in AccubidÂ
- Knowledge of Trimble PM products preferredÂ
- Experience with Microsoft OfficeÂ
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving recordÂ
- Able to work in the U.S.
- Electrical industry knowledgeÂ
- Problem solving and critical thinking to achieve goals
- Ability to understand financial reports and perform forecasting calculations
- Knowledge of electrical safety practicesÂ
- Team builder and player with a can-do attitude willing to work with multiple people on multiple projects
- Able to communicate to all levels of the organization and clients when needed
- Time management to ensure tasks are completed by the deadlines and bid dates
- Able to train others and motivate them to better themselves and the company
- Willing to learn and always strive to get better
