Job Description

A leading company specializing in the production of gaskets, molded, and machined plastics is looking for a Production Engineer to translate design specifications into executable routing plans. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in production processes and familiarity with ERP systems. Collaborating with the team, the new member will enhance operational efficiency by ensuring high-quality manufacturing outcomes, optimizing production processes, and maintaining stringent quality standards.
            
Salary + Additional Benefits: 
  • $60,000-$65,000

Location: Tomball, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct a thorough search within Global Shop to determine if a router already exists for the part numbers listed on new orders prior to creating new routers. 
  • Develop comprehensive routers, which contain manufacturing steps for a wide range of parts, for parts without previously created routers, within Global Shop. 
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis for each new router to determine the raw material requirements for the manufacturing processes. 
  • Estimate the expected yield of the manufacturing process by considering factors such as material waste, machine capabilities, and production efficiency.
  • Calculate the time required for machines to create each part by considering factors such as machine speed, setup time, tool changes, and processing steps.
  • Create detailed work instructions encompassing all manufacturing steps required for each new router.
  • Ensure all routers are detailed, accurate, and aligned with engineering specifications and production requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales and shop team members to gather necessary information for router creation and updates.
  • Review and update routers to reflect changes in production methods and new technologies. 
  • Evaluate and improve routers based on feedback from manufacturing staff and performance data.
  • Build Torque Sheets for gasket installation on rail cars.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or college required
  • Experience with Global Shop or another similar ERP System preferred
