Job Description

A leading company specializing in the design and fabrication of custom-packaged units is looking for a Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing plant and its employees. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of business & management principles along with superior mechanical skills. Adhering to the company's policies and procedures, the new leader will spearhead initiatives to continuously improve and refine processes, striving to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire


Responsibilities:
  • Set monthly target projections for sales revenue.
  • Send sales team open manpower capacity.
  • Review all NCR’s and direct necessary sop modification to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Review safety and near miss data with safety officer.
  • Lead daily shop walk.
  • Direct reports include - Manufacturing Manager, Purchasing Department Lead, QC Operation Leads, & Plant Engineering/Estimating Lead.
  • Resolve Shop Issues Related to Production, Quality, and Safety.
  • Meet with Accounting Managers on AP/AR and Monthly Financial Performance.
  • Work with HR on manpower issues and employee evaluations.
  • Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste.
  • Ensure plant operations sends and meets weekly KPI (Key Performance Indicators) to COO.
  • Work with Manufacturing Manager on efficiency targets.
  • Responsible for pricing quotations on plant estimates.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors.
  • Hold employees and managers accountable to follow company policies.

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of direct operations management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Leadership skills to develop all employees individually and as a team in a progressive work environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of employee relations in a manufacturing & office setting
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements for operating plants
  • Familiar with operating plant equipment safely and efficiently
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting practices and joint goals processes
  • Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to sit, stand, and walk around for long periods at a time
