Job Description

A leading company in the electrical repair industry is looking for a Plant Foreman to supervise and coordinate daily activities at the plant. The ideal candidate is a skilled and organized leader with outstanding leadership and supervisory skills. Working closely with the team, the new leader will drive operational excellence & productivity by efficiently managing and implementing work processes while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and standards.

Location: Houston, TX 77018
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire
Shift & Hours: M-F, 7am-3:30pm / 8:30am-5pm

Responsibilities:
  • Schedule jobs priorities as established by Customer Service.
  • Update daily work list.
  • Assign shop mechanics and machinist to specific jobs.
  • Assign work list to Lead Winder.
  • Supervise work performed on jobs.
  • Order materials and supplies for specific jobs. (not winding materials).
  • Communicate job status to customer service and sales as needed.
  • Perform process quality check on all jobs.
  • Advise Superintendent of needed shop supplies beyond normal inventory.
  • Advise Superintendent of any defective shop instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor shop personnel job performance and document personnel records.
  • Manage time daily.
  • Prepare and submit job work scopes.
  • Schedule New Build items through production schedule.
  • Schedule routine testing of storage motors.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practice in the shop.
  • Assign employees to service calls (in cooperation with Superintendent).
  • Perform or delegate the final shipping inspection and document.
  • Motivate employee performance and discipline as necessary.
  • Schedule and maintain outsourcing of overflow stators to vendors and their reports.
  • Provide open communication to shop personnel, including instructions, schedules, priorities, deliveries, etc.
  • Meet with and review job performance.
  • Maintain schedule of motor rebuilds.
  • Review shop mechanic/machinist personnel records with Superintendent.
  • Schedule pickup and deliveries.
  • Monitor maintenance of specified shop supplies.
  • Train and monitor performance.
  • Train and monitor purchasing.
  • Review and maintain schedule for winding jobs.
  • Monitor productivity.
  • Review performance and maintain personnel records.
