Job Description

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Process paychecks, including manual checks, direct deposits (ACH), and void and distribute paychecks.
- Create and write reports using Cognos Business Intelligence for the Human Resources team and others, as requested.
- Handle Team Member timesheets.
- Help process year-end W-2’s.
- Run & distribute Payroll reports.
- Respond to Unemployment Claims.
- Archive payroll info (paper & electronic).
- Process, balance, and submit garnishments & child support payment.
- Process online direct deposits & address changes, PTO/VAC (Paid Time Off/Vacation) request and update Team Members’ 6-month vacation balances.
- Field PTO/VAC questions from Team Members and handle complicated payroll issues.
Requirements:
- Experience using UltiPro, Cognos, and JD Edwards is a plus
- Experience writing payroll reports in software such as Cognos
- Experience with payroll software required; able to learn new software quickly
- Highly proficient in Excel; proficient in all other MS Office software
- 4 or more years processing payroll; familiar with processing 941 and 940 forms, State Income Tax, and Unemployment Tax
- Must be extremely customer service focused with a “whatever it takes” attitude
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and highly organized
- Must be professional at all times and able to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner
- Committed to maintaining a positive attitude, accuracy, and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Should exhibit strong initiative and be a self-starter, as well as being flexible and highly responsive to Team Members
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have tact and diplomacy
- Must have flexibility to work over forty hours per week as needed
