Job Description

A worldwide leader in the manufacturing and distribution of critical application fittings, flanges, valves, pipe, and related products is looking for an Operations Manager to manage and oversee inbound activities, inventory control, outbound activities, and safety culture within the warehouse. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with excellent communication and operations management skills. Working cross-functionally, the new OM will meet/exceed operational and financial objectives through effective leadership and accountability while ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, productivity, and world-class customer service.

Location: Missouri City, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
  • Schedule and oversee warehouse team to meet the demands of the fulfillment center and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
  • Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly and oversee general maintenance as needed.
  • Meet regularly with warehouse leads to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention.
  • Schedule customers and internal facilities shipments by utilizing our transport network to meet delivery expectations.
  • Perform information and activities critical to process quality.
  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
  • Maintain warehouse operations standards and procedures for product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, shipping and receiving.
  • Train and manage a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
  • Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality, and customer service standards are met.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards & procedures, and complying with legal regulations.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or BA preferred
  • 3 years of experience in an operations management role managing hourly employees
  • 3 years of experience in the PVF industry preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
  • Ability to work with all levels of company staff
  • Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and utilizing scanner technology in a warehouse environment
  • Detail oriented; conformable with Microsoft Office and utilizing scanner technology in a warehouse environment
  • Must be able to navigate a dynamic and fast-paced environment ultimately overseeing the fulfillment of thousands of product orders every year
