Job Description

A leading national supplier specializing in fencing and steel is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee and enhance operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in distribution logistics and a proven ability to lead diverse teams effectively. Working collaboratively, the new leader will enhance operational efficiencies by optimizing business processes, ensuring the smooth functioning of warehouse operations, and fostering strong team collaboration to maintain high standards of service and safety.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Focus on overseeing and optimizing business processes to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations across 5 locations alongside branch managers and support staff.
  • Interface and communicate with sales department and customers regarding service.
  • Ensure operational procedures are followed for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Maintain daily workflow for delivery orders. Ensure replenishment orders and returned merchandise are processed according to company standards.
  • Participate in planning safety, training, and plant protection activities. Ensure safety procedures are followed and make recommendations regarding safety issues.
  • Inform senior management of physical condition of warehouse and equipment.

Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in warehouse management/operations/distribution/logistics
  • Previous supply chain experience in a large corporate environment is ideal
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
