Job Description

Our client, a trucking and logistics company, is seeking a Operations Assistant/Dispatcher to play a key role in the smooth day-to-day flow of operations. This individual will assist with dispatch coordination, customer service, and administrative support while maintaining clear communication with drivers and clients. The ideal candidate is organized, people-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Salary + Additional Benefits:
  • $55,000 - $65,000

Location: Houston, TX 77079
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and dispatch loads to drivers, ensuring on-time delivery and accuracy in documentation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers and drivers, maintaining professional and friendly communication.
  • Input load details, manage daily dispatch reports, and track shipment updates.
  • Answer phones, check and respond to emails, and ensure information is communicated promptly to the right teams.
  • Maintain organized records for dispatch schedules, load tickets, and delivery confirmations.
  • Assist with general office tasks including scheduling, filing, data entry, and other administrative duties as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and operations to ensure customers receive top-tier service and follow-through.
  • Treat drivers as valued partners — building trust, offering support, and maintaining respectful communication.
Qualifications:
  • 2–5 years of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or administrative support (transportation industry preferred).
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills; able to manage multiple priorities with attention to details
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning dispatch or load-tracking software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to stay composed under pressure and problem-solve quickly.
  • Experience working with or maintaining a network of drivers is a plus.
