Job Description

One of the largest distributors of the world’s finest beverages is looking for a Night Warehouse Supervisor to direct and control all shift warehouse activities, including order selection, replenishment, QA, and loading of product. This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent communicator who knows warehouse operations best practices and demonstrates excellent team-building & leadership skills. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the new leader will drive operational excellence by maximizing the efficiency and safety of the warehouse operations while meeting/exceeding productivity goals and enforcing all company policies & procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, manage, and lead a strong warehouse team. Responsible for the development of an excellent team that performs to standards in a safe, secure, & efficient manner. Assist in the hiring and recruiting process for warehouse staff (pickers, loaders, QA, cooler). Coach, direct, and counsel staff on overall performance. Define productivity expectations and monitor progress regularly. Conduct performance reviews, staff training and development, hiring, and terminations. Schedule staff and maintain attendance records.
  • Provide leadership in the development of excellent warehouse personnel. Provide personnel to accomplish warehouse functions in the most efficient & cost-effective manner while maintaining the standards set forth by CCD. Develop & train warehouse personnel who will consistently meet or exceed set objectives. Ensure the team completely understands & is accountable to their direct & indirect reports for these objectives. Communicate the performance standards to maintain optimal performance & personnel efficiencies. Identify and recommend opportunities for employee development and performance improvement requirements.  Continually support our people development and warehouse support needs.
  • Develop and maintain excellent communications with sales & administrative personnel. Responsible for the effective communication flow between the operations & sales & administrative departments. Understand the needs & expectations of each department as it relates to the warehouse. Develop key relationships & open communications with all personnel affecting the warehouse operations.
  • Develop realistic goals and objectives for warehouse personnel. Responsible for determining and setting realistic goals and objectives to maximize warehouse personnel efficiencies. Constantly communicate, monitor & report these objectives.
  • Develop a solid administrative system. Work with the Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, and all operation personnel to develop and maintain the necessary information to adequately set goals, monitor, and control all aspects of operation functions. Ensure that all OSHA regulations and policies are followed.

Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least three (3) years of leadership experience in a related field
  • Physical ability to perform warehouse duties
  • Highly professional with ability to interface will all levels of the organization
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Demonstrated team-building and leadership skills
  • Ability to handle stress and hold personnel accountable to established policies and procedures
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both individually as well as part of a team
  • Need to be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic and practice ethical conduct
  • Promote and observe safety and security procedures; uses equipment and materials properly
  • Commitment to safety program and dedication to Vision/Mission
  • Report to work on a regular and timely basis and ensure that work responsibilities are covered when absent
  • Extended hours may be required as service needs dictate
  • Ability to regularly lift or carry up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift full kegs, which weigh up to 170 lbs.
  • Able to regularly bend, reach, stoop, and walk throughout warehouse
  • Able to maneuver a dolly effectively
  • Able to operate necessary equipment (including, but not limited to forklift, pallet-jack) and maintain certification
