Job Description

A leading company in the material handling industry is seeking a Millwright to install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate is a skilled tradesperson with experience in welding, alignment, and preventive maintenance. Under minimal supervision, the new team member will improve operational efficiency by troubleshooting and repairing machinery, fabricating necessary parts, and ensuring proper equipment alignment while adhering to safety standards and traveling to customer sites as needed.

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment.
  • Fabricate and install necessary components during maintenance and setup.
  • Understand conveyor system dynamics and material handling principles.
  • Perform routine machinery maintenance, assembly, start-up, and testing.
  • Read and interpret engineered blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Handle rigging operations and equipment setup.
  • Inspect, install, and maintain bearings, seals, and packing components.
  • Work both in the branch workshop and on-site at customer locations.
  • Travel frequently (75% or more) to customer facilities to perform service and repairs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
  • Accurately document work performed and timelines.
  • Utilize laser alignment techniques for pulleys, drives, and gearboxes.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on millwright experience with heavy duty belt conveyors.
  • Proficiency in welding, cutting, bearing installation, and equipment alignment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools and read work orders.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment to job sites.
  • Comfortable working outdoors at heights, underground, or in confined spaces.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to work overtime, irregular hours, and in remote locations when needed.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to complete MSHA training and comply with federal drug testing regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification is a plus.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
