Job Description

A rapidly expanding company specializing in custom design and fabrication of elevated structures is looking for a Civil/Mechanical/Structural Engineer to oversee design, modeling, and engineering reviews. The ideal candidate is a certified professional with a strong background in structural steel design & analysis, complemented by familiarity with concrete foundation design & analysis. Through successful collaboration with clients and internal teams, the new engineer will achieve business objectives by ensuring project deliverables meet established deadlines and specifications while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Location: Humble, TX 
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for preliminary design and cost estimation for project quotations.
  • Responsible for the design of platform structures and associated connections.
  • Responsible for the design of platform column foundations (slabs, piers, piles, footings - as required).
  • Conduct structural analysis using RISA 3D (FEA) and MathCad or similar software.
  • Responsible for modeling and detailing in Autodesk Advance Steel.
  • Responsible for cost estimation and materials nesting with Advance Workshop or similar software.
  • Prepare client approval drawings, engineering drawings, shipping and lashing drawings, and installation drawings.
  • Responsible for the review and final approval/stamping of Engineer drawing sets (for states in which the candidate is licensed).
  • Responsible for communication and interface with clients and shop personnel.
  • Responsible for communication, general support, and interface with the sales team, detailers, fabrication shop personnel, and installation team.
  • Maintain effective communication and interaction with clients and clients’ contractors and project trades.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of six (6) years of core experience in structural steel design and analysis and familiarity with concrete foundation design and analysis
  • Licensed in the State of Texas (as a minimum) and be willing to work to obtain PE Licensure in additional states
  • Experience with bolted and welded connection design, concrete foundation design, and building codes, including proficiency with seismic code requirements
