Yard Supervisor

Location:Â Channelview, TX
Type of Position:Â Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Enforce company safety policies and promote a safety-first culture.
- Lead monthly inventory counts to ensure yard accuracy.
- Verify packing slips, bills of lading, and related paperwork are accurate and properly recorded.
- Utilize load diagrams for loaders and assist with loading, unloading, and reloading as needed.
- Organize pipe within the yard to maximize space and accessibility.
- Supervise, train, and manage employees’ work assignments, equipment and inventory processes within established guidelines and timeframes. This includes scheduling employee work hours and vacations.
- Responsible for shipping pipe per schedule and ensuring all outbound loads are staged prior to scheduled shipping dates.
- Daily communications with brokers/freight companies.
- Visually inspect all outbound loads to maintain high quality standards and examine pipe labels to verify conformance to quality standards and correct pipe for orders.
- Visually verify all resin loads before they are offloaded into silos.
- Develop and implement 5S standards and ensure they are maintained for a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- 3+ years of inventory management ERP experience (IQMS, SAP, ORACLE)
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role supervising yard operation (piping industry preferred)
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation best practices a plus
- Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory management best practices
- Proven ability to lead teams, conduct training, and drive performance
